I'm having trouble right now. Trying to figure out the most object oriented place to put my collision code. I'm not sure if it's an exact science but I've been looking everywhere for some decent source which is yet to be desired. Right now I have a player object which has the ability to go left or right. It also loads in maps I make with my map maker. This way I could make what appears to be something really elaborate such as a top-notch Mario or Kirby platformer. Unfortunately without proper source material such as art or music I have to fiddle around to create my own placeholder graphics. I suppose see a really REALLY early pre-alpha starting to unfold but what I have made so far is really unimpressive and basic as far as I am concerned. Like I said above I am having some major issues with the collision (in other words what determines if the player is touching the ground, an enemy, or even a power-up) I know how to decide whether there is a collision between two entities but I am still wrapping my mind around Polymorphism and other complicated procedures to make the game have code the easiest for the computer to read. This is turning into a big dilemma and I have been on a wild goose chase for awhile now trying to figure out the best course of action. To conclude there will be no further progress until I find some source code I can decipher and really discover what is being written.
